How to avoid and prevent online phishing scams.

There has been a known online phishing scam that you may have seen in your Facebook Messenger disguised as a message from the Facebook/Meta team.

At Curated Social, internet safety and security is highly important to us and we're here to help and educate our users on how to detect and avoid internet phishing scams.

How to detect fake messages

Please take a look at these examples as a way to point out fake messages from the Facebook team claiming that your page has been taken down because of violating Facebook terms and policies.

Example #1:

Phishing scams will send messages via Facebook Messenger in order to contact you.

Example #2:

Look out for links that are attached to the message. Facebook will never send you a link and ask about login credentials or other personal information.

Example #3:

Messages will automatically say that your page has been taken down. If this is the case, please check your page and if it is active then it has not violated any Facebook terms and conditions.

Example #4:

Lastly, look out for any suspicious fonts or signatures from the Meta Security Team or Facebook Security Team.

The messages will be accompanied by a link prompting you to log in using your Facebook credentials. For your security, don't click on this link or enter your details. Facebook will never request your login information.

If you receive a message stating that you've breached content guidelines, know that Curated Social graphics undergo checks to meet social media standards before being released on our platform.
